Ever conscious of the need to improve our knowledge about sustainability in the landscaping sector I decided to attend an open day being put on by Q-Lawns from their base near Brandon in Norfolk. The purpose of this was to introduce the concept of wildlife gardening and more specifically two products that are created at their Brandon farm.

Despite the poor weather we’ve still managed to keep on top of our smaller landscaping projects including this dry stone wall that we built in Hook Norton, Oxfordshire last week. Deceptively simple in appearance drystone walls are both time consuming and quite difficult to build. Half the battle is having a good supplier for the stone and we are fortunate to have several locally who we can rely on for quality.

Our water feature specialist, Tom Bradley, has become a father over the weekend. His wife, Kristen, gave birth to a healthy baby boy almost a month earlier than expected. I suspect the pair of them are somewhat shell shocked and (judging by the lack of response to the question) I also suspect they haven’t actually thought of a name for the newcomer!
