The Gardenmakers - Professional Garden landscapers

The Gardenmakers started trading on June 1st 2004 and from the very first day we have been a garden landscaping business focussed on combining top quality workmanship with outstanding customer service.

From those early days when David and Tim worked together building the foundations of our garden construction business we have slowly grown to being capable of undertaking any size of  garden landscaping projects. Ordinarily we work in small teams of 3 or 4 but on a large landscaping project we might have everybody operating on one site.

We undertake garden landscaping projects across the whole of Oxfordshire, Warwickshire, Northamptonshire and The Cotswolds.

In February 2009 we were awarded the Association of Professional Landscapers ultimate accolade. A garden we constructed near Warwick was voted the  'Supreme Winner' as well as best garden in the over £50,000 category.

DavidDavid Sewell.  Director. David holds distinctions in both NCH and NDH in Landscape Construction from Merrist Wood College in Surrey. While at college he also gained the BALI award for Top Student and was in charge of the colleges' Chelsea Flower Show garden (1992)

David's early years in landscape construction were spent working with John Hill of Sherborne Gardens where skills in building with traditional materials like York stone started to flourish under John's tutelage. Eventually he set up his own garden design and landscape construction  practice in Leicestershire and combined it with Ulverscroft Grange Nursery , a plant centre specialising in rare and unusual plants. It was here that David gained his extensive knowledge of plants.

In 2004 David approached Tim with the concept of creating a dedicated landscape construction business big enough to take on large garden landscaping projects while maintaining the highest standards of workmanship possible coupled with outstanding customer service. Their alliance became The Gardenmakers. David is responsible for The Gardenmakers' administration, sales and marketing and is likely to be your first point of contact should you contact us.

Tim Mawle. Director. Tim holds an NDH from Moreton Morrell College in Warwickshire.

Tim's early career was spent learning the skills he now applies so successfully to The Gardenmakers and he very quickly started to show a prodigious natural talent for garden landscaping at the highest level.

Tim controls The Gardenmakers' landscaping projects and is responsible for all of the day to day running of the sites as well as keeping right up to date with latest building techniques and best practices. His unique ability to control large landscaping projects while keeping all parties motivated and happy is one of The Gardenmakers' greatest assets.

Tim also loves to pass on his knowledge and is constantly looking for ways to develop the skills and abilities of the younger members of the Gardenmakers team.
