About The Gardenmakers.
The Gardenmakers was formed in June 2004 as a limited company by David Sewell and Tim Mawle; two of the regions most experienced landscape gardeners. Their aim was to create a business based on two main criteria – high quality workmanship and outstanding customer service. A business that could tackle any sized project with the same professionalism and enthusiasm. The business has adhered to these principles ever since and they remain the backbone to everything we do.
Since 2004 we’ve been privileged to be trusted with our clients gardens and we have never failed to deliver an outstanding product. Along the way we’ve scooped 3 national awards, appeared in the horticultural and national press and been interviewed several times on local radio. We are also nationally recognised experts in the installation of York stone paving.
Over the years we have built up a reliable team of highly skilled landscape gardeners whose abilities span many disciplines. We operate from a base close to the M40 at Banbury and we service the counties of Warwickshire, Northants, North Oxon and The Cotswolds.
In June 2011 Tim decided to leave Oxfordshire to take himself and his family to a new life in Cornwall where he set up a new business Blustone Construction. He still regularly works with The Gardenmakers as a consultant on our more technical projects and it’s fantastic that we can still draw on his amazing abilities as a project manager.
About David Sewell
David holds distinctions in both NCH and NDH in Landscape Construction from Merrist Wood College in Surrey. While at college he also gained the British Association of Landscape Industries award for Top Student and was in charge of the colleges' Chelsea Flower Show garden (1992) which won a silver gilt medal.

materials like York stone started to flourish under John's tutelage.
Eventually he set up his own garden design and landscape construction practice in Leicestershire and combined it with Ulverscroft Grange Nursery, a plant centre specialising in rare and unusual plants. It was here that David gained his extensive knowledge of plants.
David lives on the edge of the Cotswolds with his wife Verity, an interior designer, and his daughter India. When time allows his interests include gardening, conservation issues, travelling, wildlife photography, working on his Norfolk cottage and above all spending time with his family.
