Constructing gardens for properties with genuine historical importance is both a challenge and a privilege and we’ve been lucky to have created several over the years. The key challenges are to understand and replicate the original materials and techniques so that the new landscaping blends with the existing. Here we used a combination of Penine stone (which actually came from Northamptonshire Magistrates court!) and reclaimed York stone setts. Breedon bound gravel was used for the main parking area. The designer also incorporated ribbons of cobbles into the paving and a mosaic of the clients favourite dog.
