landscaping in small spaces..
Landscaping in and around schools is always challenging. Earlier this year we were asked to quote for a landscaping project at Kings High School in Warwick. This involved landscaping several very small areas that needed improving both access-wise and aesthetically. The garden designer was Sally Hopkinson who worked closely with us to achieve a great end result.
The challenge to our team was to get the work completed in the Easter holidays while working around a team of decorators who were also operating within the same deadline. Access was tricky in the centre of Warwick with a tiny amount of road space to put landscaping materials outside and two flights of steps to negotiate before getting to the areas we were working on. All materials, including 20 tonnes of topsoil, 2 tonnes of hardcore, sand, cement and timber were brought into the building in large buckets. Hard work to say the least.
The landscaping works consisted of some sleeper walls, several areas of paving, raised timber beds, steps, creating planting areas and installing a lovely copper tree water feature. The final two days was spent planting the various areas and mulching with gravel. To see before and afters of the work click HERE.
